I spent a fair chunk of the weekend going through the CESP and HES consultations and it’s sucked the life right out of me. I think I may have consultation blindness. The worst part is, there’s a chance this might be a game-changing shift we’re witnessing here but 200 pages later it’s almost impossible to care.
Luckily I also spent a chunk of the weekend making a kick ass leaf hut with my 3 year old son. That may be the only reason I’ve survived.
Where do you start with a document like this? There’s this all enveloping feeling of terminal depression that consumes me when I open it up as a pdf. I know it’s important, I know I must read it, but somehow I just can’t get going. Help!

you need to embrace small scale shelter making, in a Ray Mears kinda-way, to provide the ying to the yang of consultations. When you can make fire just by concentrating hard enough on a pile of sticks, then shall Govt. strategy papers be easy…..I have seen Casey do this, and i marvel every time…
And if all else fails, the leaf hut gives you somewhere to hide and cry, or set fire to yourself, once you’ve finished reading
